Representative Projects
Harmony Design and Engineering works on a wide variety of projects. An example of some of our recent projects include the following:
Redtail PUD – Driggs, Idaho
The Redtail PUD is a 105-acre residential development located northeast of Driggs, Idaho. The property includes approximately 1 mile of Teton Creek and Harmony Design & Engineering was instrumental in designing and planning the development so that wetland areas, existing vegetation, riparian habitat and floodplain functions were preserved. A LOMR was filed with FEMA and approved for this property.

Hydrology, Hydraulic & Floodplain Mapping – Mitchell County, Iowa
This project provided updated flood hazard data to assist the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the local, regional, and state agencies deal with existing and increased flood hazards caused by flooding in Iowa during the summer of 2008. The analysis was used to help the State of Iowa during recovery and mitigation efforts. Flood Recovery Maps in digital GIS format with accompanying reports were produced for sixteen counties in Iowa. This project had a very short timeline and Harmony Design & Engineering worked closely with a large project team headed by URS Corporation to get the project finished on time and within budget. Harmony Design & Engineering analyzed and processed topographic data, conducted hydrologic analysis using ArcHydro, conducted hydraulic analysis using HEC-RAS and HEC-GeoRAS, and produced flood hazard delineations for 469 stream miles in Mitchell County. All data produced met FEMA Data Capture Standards and FEMA’s Guidance and Specifications.

100 North Eco-Park - Driggs, ID
100 North Eco-Park is a mixed-use light industrial and residential project on approximately 67-acres located in Driggs, Idaho near the existing airport. This project integrates green building, smart growth and traditional neighborhood design principles. It is a LEED-ND pilot project with the US Green Building Council and is striving for Silver Certification.

Red Barn – Driggs, Idaho
Red Barn is a residential development located on 80-acres within the town of Driggs, Idaho. Red Barn's focus is environmental sustainability, social responsibility, diversity, safety and the creation of a healthy and friendly neighborhood. Harmony Design & Engineering is the planner, engineer, and LEED consultant for this traditional neighborhood development. The project has a range of lot sizes and prices as well as small business space available in mixed use lots and flex row units. Environmental sustainability is an integral part of Red Barn, and the neighborhood’s CC&Rs will be designed to integrate today’s latest and greatest “green” building practices, yet give residents flexibility in designing their homes. Red Barn also features a 5-acre park that rests on the banks of the scenic Teton Creek.

Weinbrandt-Helm Residence – Victor, Idaho
The Weinbrandt-Helm Residence is a custom home at the mouth of Teton Canyon in Alta, Wyoming. The sod roof is framed with structural insulated panels on curved glulams, and the interior is irregular and open both vertically and horizontally, providing expansive views of the Tetons to the west. The upstairs south wall has large windows to accommodate passive solar heating requirements. Harmony Design & Engineering completed the structural engineering for this project and you can click here for highlights from the Visual Analysis Software website.

Trail Creek Crossing – Victor, Idaho
