Conservation DevelopmentConservation Development and Green Development refer to a set of planning principles and alternative technologies that strive to simultaneously conserve and protect natural resource systems while allowing land to be developed. Low-Impact Development (LID) started as an alternative technology to traditional stormwater system design and we expand LID to include planning and engineering to make a greater impact on preserving our watersheds. The benefits of conservation development and LID are realized by developers with possible reduction in infrastructure costs and increased market values, while municipalities benefit through reduced maintenance costs.
