Community Involvement

VOLUNTEERING

The Harmony Design & Engineering staff is very active in the Teton Valley community. We volunteer time and services to several non-profit organizations including the Smart Growth Coalition of Fremont County, Teton Valley Trails and Pathways, Friends of the Teton River, Valley Advocates for Responsible Development, and Teton Basin Ice & Recreation. Our staff also serves on governmental boards including the Driggs City Council and the Driggs Design Review Committee.

 

SUSTAINABILITY TENT AT TARGHEE FEST

Harmony Design and Engineering was a proud sponsor of the Sustainability Tent at Grand Targhee Resort’s 5th Annual Targhee Fest, July 17-19, 2009.

The tent featured a milk shake blender powered by bicycle, which is ridden by the customer. Procees from the milkshake sales were donated to the Tin Cup Challenge fundraiser which raises money for local non-profit groups.

 

ANNUAL REAL ESTATE AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE NORTHERN ROCKIES

Harmony Design & Engineering employees also participate in public forums and conferences to help educate and promote conservation design. They have participated in the Annual Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies conference in Missoula, MT for two years. The conference, sponsored by NewWest, attracts real estate professionals, developers, designers and engineers throughout the western United States. Jennifer Zung has been featured on panel discussions concerning trends in Green Development and Ag Lands and Open Space.

 

URBAN AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE ROCKIES

Harmony Design & Engineering organized a team of government officials, planners, and developers from Teton County, ID to participate in a workshop sponsored by the Sonoran Institute. This workshop focused on Urban and Rural Development in the Rockies.

 

ASFPM CONFERENCE

The 2009 National Association of Floodplain Managers Conference in Orlando Florida featured many speakers including Harmony Design & Engineering's Jennifer Zung, who made a presentation entitled: "Restoring Teton Creek After an Illegal Dredging: Stakeholders, Science, and Scenery". PLANNING IN THE NEW WEST CONFERENCE

Harmony Design & Engineering's Jennifer Zung was a speaker at the very first Planning in the New West Conference, presented by NewWest.Net in Boise, ID on June 17-18, 2009.
